If you've ever seen the movie Dark Crystal (1982 directed by Jim Henson and Frank Oz) you would know that these birds, friar birds, MUST have been the inspiration for the Skeksis.
Just wish I'd been able to get a better photo.

llllllloooooovvvveeeeddd the dark crystal. Jim was taken way too early for my taste in things. I actually saw it in the movie theatre, with my dad :D and siblings
